Days of our Lives
is back for another week of intense drama. Bo (Peter Reckell
) is anxious to be released from the hospital, but Lexie (Renee Jones
) won't allow it until Dr. Jonas signs off. Kayla (Mary Beth Evans
) is also still in the hospital, and Daniel stops by to check in on her and to compliment her on her doctoring skills in regards to Bo's surgery. He also reports that Kayla's OB/GYN will release her from the hospital first thing in the morning. Kayla tries to convince him to work on the OB/GYN to spring her early.
Steve (Stephen Nichols
) is still entwined in Ava's arms. Hope (Kristian Alfonso
) is locked up in a different room, trying to think of a way to escape.
John (Drake Hogestyn
) and Marlena (Deidre Hall
) are dancing cheek-to-cheek. He asks her if they had a song before he lost his memory.
In mid-dance, Marlena suddenly pulls away from John because she doesn't think it feels right. He offers to get more champagne, but she nixes the idea. She is not allowing herself to fall for this new John because she wants the old one back. John reveals that he isn't sure of himself sometimes too - he's just making it up as he goes along. Marlena can't deny that she is sexually drawn to him. She's clearly torn up and conflicted inside, so she wants to get away from him and sort through her feelings. She doesn't know how long she'll be gone - as long as it takes for her to figure out if her feelings for him are real. John, showing real emotion for the first time since Days of our Lives
resurrected him from the dead, begs her not to go. He wants her to stay. He reminds her that Stefano reprogrammed him into a killing machine, but Marlena saved him from that. He wants to know if they can get back together after her return, but she can't promise anything. She walks slowly away from him, as he looks on with furrowed brow.
Lexie tells Bo that he should call Abe and let him know what's going on, but Bo says that he can't get the cops involved. Daniel comes in to do a final examination. His vitals are good. Lexie says that they should keep him at least until tomorrow morning, but Daniel is willing to release him as long as he agrees to follow a strict order of post-op instructions, which includes no driving for six weeks.
Lexie goes over to Kayla's room. Lexie agrees to release her as long as she goes straight home and into bed. Kayla promises that she'll be good and she'll make sure that Bo takes care of himself. As soon as they are free, both Bo and Kayla call Caroline to ask for a favor.
Caroline drives over and picks up Kayla and Bo from the hospital. They both asks to be taken to the pub. She brings them to the pub and orders both of them to go to bed, but they both refuse. Bo, sensing that Hope is in trouble, takes out a DVD that a guy from hospital security gave to him. The contents of the DVD will lead them to Hope, he tells Kayla.
Steve tries to let Ava down gently. She's desperate to get him back, and he apologizes for leaving her. She kisses her and then he winces in pain because of his broken ribs from the plane crash. She thinks that he hates her now because he keeps pulling away, but he says that when (not if!) he makes love to her, he wants it to be right. He doesn't want to do it while he's her prisoner and banged up from the plane crash and while his pregnant wife is down the hall. Ava tells him that he has to make up his mind soon. She goes in for a kiss, and then slaps him across the face. She storms out of the room.
As soon as the coast is clear, Steve breaks out of his room and into Hope's room. Angelo catches Steve in the wrong room, and takes Steve back to his room.
