OK, so John Black is, at least for the time being, dead and Drake Hogestyn
, the man who has portrayed him on Days of Our Lives
for 21 years, is out of the long-running soap. But it doesn't mean that the memory of both the actor and the character can't live on. After all, two decades as an altogether different persona can't be swept that easily into oblivion.
And, indeed, the legacy of Drake Hogestyn as John Black on Days of Our Lives
endures via a special meet and greet next week.
Reflections Tannery, in association with American Airlines and WEEK and News 25, presents John Black (Drake Hogestyn) from NBC's Days of Our Lives
on Saturday, November 17. Hogestyn will be on hand to mingle with a group of lucky ticket winners to that evening's American Hockey League (AHL) game.
In support of the Peoria Rivermen in the AHL, the official Rivermen web site is giving away a pair of tickets each to 25 lucky winners, who will get the chance to catch the team go up against the San Antonio Rampage next Saturday, November 17. The puck drops for the face-off at 7pm. The same group of winners will also be invited to a private Meet and Greet with Days of Our Lives
' Drake Hogestyn at 5:30pm. Aside from the exclusive hobnob with the select bunch, the recently killed off John Black will also sign autographs for the general public from 6:30-8:30pm.
AHL, Peoria Rivermen, Days of Our Lives
and Drake Hogestyn fans may sign up for the contest at www.rivermen.net/fanzone/win, or they may click on the FANS tab and the John Black – Register to Win link on the website.
Tickets to the game are currently on sale at the Civic Center Box Office, through all TicketMaster locations, on line at www.TicketMaster.com, or charge by phone at (309) 676-8700. Seats are $18, $13, and $10.
