Alison Sweeney, best known for her portrayal of Samantha "Sami" Gene Brady on Days of our Lives, is expecting her second child with husband Dave Sanoy.  The 31-year-old actress broke the good news while taping the new season of The Biggest Loser, where she serves as the host.

Sweeney married David, a California Highway Patrolman who once appeared on Days of our Lives as a police officer, in 2000. Five years later, Sweeney gave birth to her first baby boy named Benjamin Edward Sanov.

While having a baby excites most family members, having another sibling doesn't sound quite as good to Sweeney's 3-year-old son Ben.

"When we showed him a picture of the ultrasound and asked him, 'Would you like a little brother or sister?' he said 'Can it be a helicopter?' So ... we're working on it," the Days of our Lives actress told People.

But whether her second baby is a boy or a girl, the expectant actress is thrilled to be a mom again.

"The whole experience of having a little girl, I'd love that," Sweeney said.  "Whenever I'm out shopping for Ben, my heart cries out for all those adorable little girls' clothes.  But having a little boy would be great, too.  I love having a boy, and I would definitely not mind having another."

Sweeney isn't due until January 2009 but she's already eager to find out the gender of her baby.

"I'll go in for a high-tech ultrasound at the third month and will find out,” she added.

At present, Sweeney is working to stay fit, doing four workouts a week and eating healthily for two. At the same time, she's filming scenes for her regular daytime gig on Days of our Lives and will be reprising her hosting duties when The Biggest Loser returns for a sixth season.
