Chelsea Benson, born Georgia Brady on May 22, 1988 in Louisiana, is played by
Rachel Melvin on Days of our Lives. She is the long lost daughter of Billie Reed and Bo Brady. Chelsea was also a bad influence to her friend Abby, encouraging her to smoke, drink and lie to her mother. She was also involved in some car accidents, the worst being one where she got her half-brother killed. She was also involved with Max Brady, who kept Chelsea's secret about accidentally killing Zack. Chelsea liked older men, specifically Patrick Lockhart. She saw Billie as a competition, thus hating her a lot. What she did not know was that Billie was her biological mother. But after all the negative events in her life, she wanted to change so she served her community service at the hospital where she discovered a file. It was proof that Claire is not the daughter of Philip but of Shawn. This caused a lot of havoc and criminal charges filed against her but after the DNA testing the charges against her was dropped.
Chelsea confided in Nick about the events that led to Ford's death, and Nick was furious that Chelsea never contacted the authorities. Stephanie then told Chelsea that she was reluctant to come forward about Ford's death due to her own rape and that the girls at the sorority might blame her. She was then pressured by Nick, Billie, and Bo to reveal the cir!@#!@stances behind Ford’s death, which lead to Stephanie’s revelation about Ford raping her. His father, Crawford Decker told the police that if Ford’s body was returned, he would drop charges against Chelsea, but later changed his mind after his visit to the morgue. Victor fortunately agreed to help Chelsea. In the end, both Stephanie and Chelsea were cleared off the charges and they go on with their lives.
