Dawson's Creek

Joshua Jackson catapulted to fame when he was cast on the teen series Dawson’s Creek.  From 1998 to 2003, he portrayed the character Pacey Witter for which he won several Teen Choice Awards.  His character was the son of the local chief of police and was often perceived as the underachiever of the family.  Also known as the best friend of Dawson Leery, he frequently appeared in his early films.  Throughout the series, he got involved with several women, including Andie McPhee, Audrey Liddell, Karen Torres and, finally, Joey Potter.

After Dawson’s Creek ended, Joshua Jackson concentrated on making films.  His movies included I Love Your Work, Racing Stripes and Cursed.  Although he often landed minor roles, he was able to tap various genres of comedy, drama, fantasy and thriller.

An opportunity to lead a movie came when he was cast in Americano.  The romantic comedy centered on his character Chris McKinley, a recent college graduate backpacking through Europe. The plot explored his journey as he encountered various people who encourage him to rethink his future.

In the film Aurora Borealis, he also starred as the lead character Duncan Shorter. This is also where he won a Jury Award for Best Actor.  The drama was about a distressed young man struggling to cope with the death of his father.

Later, he became part of Emilio Estevez’s film Bobby.  The movie was about the events at the Ambassador Hotel on the day Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated.  He portrayed the character Wade, joining Anthony Hopkins, Sharon Stone, and Demi Moore among others.

At present, the former Dawson’s Creek actor is still active in the movie world.  He stars in the action-drama Battle in Seattle, which is for release in December.  Additionally, he will also be featured in the horror-thriller Shutter, which is slated for 2008.
