In the season finale of Date My Ex: Jo and Slade
last week, emotions were on a high when Jo
faced the fact that she had to make an elimination that would change her life. Moreover, Slade
's recent confession shocked everyone, and Jo was brought to tears after one of the finalists threatened to leave the house. After making the hard decision of either choosing one of the finalists or going back to her ex, Slade, Jo chose Lucas
to be the man of her dreams. Bravo recently spoke with Lucas following his victory. Read on to find out his thoughts on the competition.
"Before going on Date My Ex
I had never heard of Real Housewives of OC
and knew nothing about Jo. I actually didn't even really know a lot about Bravo," Lucas admitted. However, when it comes to Jo, who previously appeared in The Real Housewives of Orange County
, he says that when he got to know her, she was "very outgoing and she's very easy to talk too, so those qualities attracted me to her."

When asked about his favorite dates this season, he says, "My favorite moment was probably our first date. At that time we knew nothing about each other, but had a fun time on the golf course and some great laughs."
He adds that one of his best dates prior to being on the competition was when he and his girl "hung out a resort pool during the day, relaxed and soaked up some Arizona sun. Then we headed out to dinner at this Italian restaurant and then went to a piano bar to end the night. Overall, that was one of the best dates I've been on."
When it comes to dating, Justin says that there is one piece of advice that's pretty easy to follow, and will really work in the long run.
"My advice is dating is not a game, nor is it a competition. If you're truly looking for someone that you want to spend a lot of time with in the future then be true to yourself and don't act or dress a certain way because you may think someone may like it," Justin explained. "On your date find a fun place that has a good atmosphere to avoid awkward moments of silence. For men, so many of them try to impress women with flashy clothes, cars, jewelry, houses - but in the long run you want to find a woman who going to like you for you and not what you own. I don't date a lot so there's my two cents!"
