Reality television hits the real world when
Date My Ex: Jo & Slade stars celebrated the premiere of the new Bravo TV show by attending a charity date auction.

The Real Housewives of Orange County fame and her ex-fiancé Slade Smiley hit the streets of New York for the event. The first stint being held on a Wednesday night, July 9, at the Tenjune nightclub, the charity affair was called “Recycle Your Ex.” It was organized to raise money for the Natural Resources Defense Council.
The promo for the reality show is all about bringing your ex-boyfriend or girlfriend to the stage. Not to pelt them with rotten tomatoes, but to auction them off. “Recycle Your Ex” featured a number of prizes. For the first event, there was the $350 gift certificate for a date at Wall Street Burger Shoppe with Selena, an NYU student sold for $750. Another prize was going out to Buddha Bar for $200, with “spicy” analyst Lauren from Short Hills, New Jersey. No one got to win Jo De La Rosa, though, as she wasn't even auctioned. She merely cheered the people on, dancing on a banquette away from the stage.
Most of the notable exes were girls. One of them, 23-year old Talia, fared well with the crowd, especially when she threw “Buy me!” cookies at them. She went for over $1,000 even though an onlooker complained that he couldn't even see the girls' bodies.
On another side of the gender spectrum, the men who took part in the auction weren't as noticeable. The only head-turner who stepped up to the auction plate was Slade Smiley himself. The event reached its climax as the price for the man's head went higher and higher, reaching $2,250. The winning bidder reconsidered and tried to give Slade away to the one who called for $2,000. The organizers decided to restart the auction, and the auctioneers brought the prices lower.
"This is New York, I thought there was more money than that,” Slade said, causing him to sell for a mere $1,200, much less than the first bid. The bar could get higher, when the charity promo goes to Lumen at Chicago for its second run. You could still put your exes on the auction block, when “Recycle Your Ex” heads over to Opera in Los Angeles on July 17 for its last stop.
Date My Ex: Jo & Slade will feature Jo De La Rosa search for love and success. Leaving Orange County, she goes out with a number of guys who have spent time with her ex-fiancé turned best friend, Slade Smiley. The series will premiere on Bravo on July 21at 10 pm ET/PT, and will air every Monday at that time.
