Sometimes it's easy to forget that the pretty people we see on our TV screens are real people too, despite—or perhaps because of—the spate of celebreality out there. And then, something happens like Marie Osmond's fainting spell on Dancing with the Stars to jerk us back to reality.

While Len Goodman was telling her what a good samba requires, Marie stood on stage next to her partner Jonathan Roberts, her chest heaving all the while. Out of nowhere, Marie drops to the ground with a loud thud, followed immediately by Bruno Tonioli's high-pitched gasp. Host Tom Bergeron, normally cool as a cucumber on live TV, had to collect himself for a second before cutting to a commercial break.

Now, there are allegations out there, mostly propagated by TMZ, that Marie faked her fainting spell. I choose not to believe these rumors, but even if they are true, it would make the moment no less shocking.
