OK! Magazine reports that Jersey Shore star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is bringing his titular abs to ABC, and has definitely signed on for Dancing with the Stars season 11.

ABC reps never comment on casting rumors before the official cast announcement--which will come in the form of a live news conference a week from today, August 30, during Bachelor Pad--so take this rumor with a grain of salt. (And, since we're talking Jersey Shore, a shot of tequila--no use wasting good salt.)

But this rumor might actually hold water. OK! didn't reveal their casting source (if there is one), but also spoke with reigning pro champ Derek Hough, who said getting The Sitch on DWTS made sense to him:

"It's people like that who come on the show who people will tune in and watch because either it will be a travesty or it will be interesting to see somebody turn something completely around so I'm up for anybody," he told OK! at the Creative Emmys Saturday in L.A.

"For me it's classic entertainment, it's fun. Whatever gets people talking and tuning in is interesting to watch."

Watching MTV's ab-man go from fist-pumping club party boy to smooth (or not so smooth) salsa dancer certainly would get the kids talking. And you can bet that every week he'd find a new way to show off his stomach. Luckily for Mike, the Dancing with the Stars wardrobe department is full of mesh shirts, revealing vests and tiny man-jackets with which to frame his six-pack. Throw in the inevitable pick-up lines he'll toss at his female pro partner, and you've got yourself the second coming of Ochocinco. Except, you know ... more Jersey.

What do you think of this latest Dancing with the Stars casting rumor? And what about Mike's costars? OK! also declared a few more stars signed on to the Dancing season 11 galaxy: his MTV Hills counterpart Audrina Patridge, singer Brandy (But not her brother Ray J? Missed opportunity, ABC ... ) and retired Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner.

But, as they say, nothing's official until Tom Bergeron announces it at a live new conference. So we'll have to wait a week to know for sure.
