Actress Vivica A. Fox was born on July 30, 1964 in Indianapolis, Indiana. She attended Arlington High School and is a graduate of Golden West College, from where she earner her Associate Art degree in Social Sciences. In pursuit of an acting career, Fox relocated to Los Angeles, California, where she landed roles popular soaps like
Generations,
Days of Our Lives and
The Young and the Restless. Her other television credits include
Out All Night and
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, where she got to work alongside Academy Award nominated actor, Will Smith. Fox reunited with Smith on the film,
Independence Day, afterwhich she was cast in the 1997 flick,
Soul Food. Her performance in Soul Food earned her MTV Movie Award and NAACP Image Award nominations. Her other big screen credits include
Idle Hands, Why do Fools Fall in Love, Teaching Mrs. Tingle and
Kill Bill.
Fox returned to television in 2006 in order to participate in the third season of
Dancing with the Stars. She was partnered with Nick Kosovich, and despite receiving continuous praises from the judges, Fox and Kosovich were eliminated from the show after only four weeks.
