We all know she has the body (see also: topless lambada), but now Dancing with the Stars alum Joanna Krupa has earned the ire of the Catholic League for supposedly desecrating some pretty holy implements.

The New York-based anti-defamation and civil rights organization is crying foul over Krupa's racy ads for PETA, where the model appears as a nude angel with just a crucifix covering her privates. Another poster shows her, still nude and still a winged angel, holding her dog and a rosary.

The PETA ad lobbies against pet stores and animal breeding. The poster says, "Be an angel for animals. Always adopt. Never buy." The League says PETA "exploits Christian symbols."

Krupa, who placed fourth on the recently concluded season of Dancing with the Stars, is a self-confessed practicing Catholic.

According to her, "It's understandable that the Catholic League is wary of another sex scandal, but the sex we're talking about pertains to dogs and cats."

She adds that she's "shocked" to hear of the complaints.

"I'm doing what the Catholic Church should be doing, working to stop senseless suffering of animals, the most defenseless of god's creation."

She leads a protest action today in downtown Los Angeles outside a pet shop that sells dogs from puppy mills.

"Somebody needs to put their foot down and stop this breeding and these puppy mills," she tells PETA. "They live in these little tiny cages, and all they're doing is breeding their whole life," she said. "It makes me so angry that our government doesn't do anything about it. So I am!"
