Lil' Kim and Derek Hough - Waltz

Lil' Kim is arguably the new favorite of Dancing with the Stars since she is now a regular occupant of the top spot in the leaderboard.

Lil' Kim and Derek dance the smooth waltz tonight. I kind of hate her dress tonight. Orangey peach isn't really her color, and although they dance very well and have a few cool tricks, I'm most bored with this routine. I guess I've just come to expect more sauciness from Lil' Kim. The routine ends with Lil' Kim inexplicably sitting on the floor in the fetal position.

Carrie Ann starts off with some harsh criticism, pointing out the lack of extension of her arms and her foot missteps. Len agrees with Carrie Ann that she started some turns on the wrong foot, but he was pleasantly surprised by the quality of her dancing. Bruno says, "You tried to be a lady, but you are more comfortable being a tramp," which causes Lil' Kim to screech in shock. Bruno spends the next minute back-peddling and trying to explain his mangling of the English language.

The scores:
Carrie Ann: 8
Len: 9
Bruno: 8
Total: 25 out of 30 (Many thanks to SummerGlitch for catching these scores. <3)

Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke - Foxtrot

This week in rehearsal, Cheryl took Gilles to watch some professionals dancing the foxtrot so that he can get a feel for the way he should be performing.

Is it me, or did they reuse this music? Anyway, the performance is, like, waaaay sexier than other foxtrots I've seen. It's like Cheryl and Gilles can't not be sexy.

Len starts off the commentary, saying that he loves watching Gilles, but the foxtrot requires one to straighten ones legs, which Gilles did not do. Bruno butts in and says a whole bunch of positive things, and Carrie Ann agrees that it's performances like this one are what is going to send him into the semi-finals.

The scores:
Carrie Ann: 10
Len: 9
Bruno: 10
Total: 29 out of 30

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani - Viennese waltz

Melissa was missing from last week's performance due to a rib injury, but she's back tonight, hopefully healthy. It's funny how she keeps mentioning "the new treatment" that she is receiving for her injury, which makes me think of all kinds of illegal drugs or something that they are pumping into her. I'm sure it's not the case, but that's just where my mind goes.

I'm of two minds concerning Melissa's outfit tonight. I like the gown, but I don't like the weird floaty things on her arms. I think they are supposed to make her look like an angel, but i think it's weird. The dance itself is really great, really romantic, and Tony pumps his fist in the air at the end of it.

Bruno calls Melissa "an ethereal vision, lighter than air." He tsk-tsks that it was a touch balletic, but he's overall very positive. Len is still not a big fan of her feet, but the rest of her is fantastic.

The scores:
Carrie Ann: 9
Len: 9
Bruno: 9
Total: 27 out of 30

Editor's note: Please help me out! I was having many technical difficulties while watching Dancing with the Stars tonight, so I don't think I am really qualified to put together my usual Performance Rankings for the Top 5. Vote in the showdown that I created, and I'll take your results and publish them into a slideshow with your comments tomorrow!
