OK, here's how it works. Belinda and Jonathan, and Steve and Karina each have the two lowest combined totals of judges' scores and audience votes. They have each chosen a performance from the past two weeks that they think will garner the highest scores from the judges. The judges will score them again tonight, and this new set of scores will be combined with the audience votes from the last two weeks to determine who will be eliminated.
Belinda Carlisle and Jonathan Roberts reprise their salsa from last night. She still not terribly graceful, and frankly, watching this again, I wouldn't be sad if she left the competition tonight. Len and Bruno both agree that her hip action was improved from last night, but as a result, she lost her footwork. Carrie Ann also points out that Belinda messed up the entire middle section of the routine. The new set of scores: Carrie Ann gives 5, Len gives 6, and Bruno gives 6, for a 17 out of 30. (They got 18 out of 30 last night.)
Up next, Steve Wozniak and Karina Smirnoff encore their quickstep in the hopes that it will save them from certain doom. Unfortunately, Steve's foot was acting up this morning, but he soldiers on. Again, Steve is no great dancer, but I still have a special place in my heart reserved for big, lovable nerds. Bruno praises his spirit and determination. He says that Steve is not a good dancer at all, but still fun to watch. Carrie Ann points out once again that they had a bit of a difficulty in the middle section, but she thought he improved. Len, however, doesn't see any improvement. The scores: Carrie Ann gives 6, Len gives 5, Bruno gives 6, for a 17 out of 30. (They earned a 17 yesterday, as well.)
However, it's not done yet. The two weeks worth of audience votes must now be factored in before they can reveal who gets the first ax of the season.
With the new scores combined with the votes, the first couple to say good-bye to Dancing with the Stars
is Belinda Carlisle and Jonathan Roberts. The Woz lives for another week!
