The Professional Competition
After several weeks of voting, there are only two pro hopefuls left. They are Mayo Alanen and Anna Demidova. For tonight, their task was to choreograph one ballroom and one Latin style, and perform them both with professional partners. We at home are to vote for them based on their choreography tonight. Mayo is partnered with Kym Johnson, and Anna is partnered with Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
Mayo Alanen and Kym Johnson - Tango
Mayo is totally a cutie, and he and Kym make a great pair. They are both so tall and long-limbed. The choreography is very interesting and dramatic.
They get very positive reviews from all of the judges. Carrie Ann Inaba says that she likes the choreography, but she wishes that Mayo showed some more of his personality in the performance.
Anna Demidova and Maksim Chmerkovskiy - Quickstep
Maks is kind of a little diva, huh? He tries to be difficult and picky with her in rehearsal, but Anna puts him in his place. Yay. In tonight's performance, Anna is wearing a pale pink dress with straps going everywhere. My goodness, she's very tall too. I'm also so impressed when I see professionals performing the quickstep. It's worlds apart in terms of technique compared to when the non-professionals do it on this show.
Bruno deems it "magnificent, lightning fast." Carrie Ann says that Anna outshined Maks just a hair, and Len praises Anna's maturity, despite only being 21 years old.
Before we get to any results tonight, Samantha is backstage with the highest- and lowest-scoring celebrities from last night: Gilles Marini and Ty Murray, respectively. For once, Gilles' hair isn't slicked back. He looks much cuter like this. Ty is his usual self-deprecating self that appeals to so many of us.
