Next up are
Susan Lucci and
Tony Dovolani, who were in the bottom two last week. Susan is determined to start dancing out of the box, and to help her out, Tony took her to a mambo club with
Cameron Mathison and some of her friends. Susan and Tony dance the mambo tonight, but I don't see immediately that she is out of the box yet. I think, technique-wise, her movements are all very proficient, but she's still dancing too small. She ends the routine with a "rowr." Carrie Ann disagree with me. She thinks that Susan broke the box. Bruno is happy that Susan became more fiery, but complains that she lost her timing so many times. Carrie Ann and Bruno start bickering like there's no tomorrow, but Michael Flatley, Lord of the Dance, thinks that Susan was "intoxicating." And their scores: Carrie Ann gives 8, Michael gives 8 and Bruno gives 7, for a 23 out of 30.
Brooke Burke and
Derek Hough are next up, but we find out that Brooke is the latest with a dance-related injury. She strained a tendon in her foot during the jitterbug last week and had to take some time off to tend to her foot, which means that they had half the rehearsal time that the others had to learn her routines. But the show must go on, and they dance the rumba tonight. I do feel like Derek is working harder than he usually does. I think he choreographed the routine so that it would be easier for Brooke to learn, which translates to a boring routine. Michael Flatley says that the routine took his breath away. (I can't believe this, but I miss Len!) Carrie Ann says that this wasn't Brooke's best dance, and Bruno is also disappointed. Carrie Ann gives 8, Michael gives 10, and Bruno gives 8, for 26 out of 30. Hrm, I think the 8s are too high, but a 10? Michael Flatley is dead to me.
That skanky ho,
Cloris Leachman, and her partner,
Corky Ballas, are next up. Corky had a hard time keeping her focused this week, so he enlists the help of George Englund. Cloris and Corky dance the cha cha cha. Predictably, this cha cha is very tame and boring. There's not even a hint of skanky hoishness in it at all! What gives? Woah, but Corky does swing her around by her arm and leg. Bruno good-naturedly calls her dancing "such nonsence," which Cloris cracks up at. Michael doesn't say very much, and Carrie Ann says that she's sad that
Toni Braxton was eliminated for "this." Ooh, ouch! The scores: Carrie Ann, Michael and Bruno all give 5s, for a 15 out of 30.
