Maks, the long-time Dancing with the Stars pro, has written in his blog that he wanted to do The Bachelor in order to take time for himself, find love and give something back to the country of his birth. He neglects to brag about how awesome he is for giving himself to one lucky lady.

Exhaustion seems to have been a major factor in Maks' decision. "I am truly tired," the dancer writes. It sounds like he felt lucky to have even gotten through the most recent season of DWTS. Although he and his partner Brandy placed fourth (narrowly missing the finals), their ranking behind contestants like Kyle Massey and Bristol Palin must have been a blow to the professional dancer.

With the new gig on The Bachelor, will Maks be back for Dancing with the Stars? While he doesn't address the point specifically, it looks like Maks might indeed miss out on the dancing show.

Maks also wants to find love. Not being insane, he appears skeptical of his chances of reality TV-love, but Maks goes with "nothing is impossible" as his attitude.

The dancer does seem genuinely excited to appear on the first season of a Ukrainian version of the program. Having left the country as a child, Maks sees the show as a chance to give back. And he has a lot to give back.

There had been rumors that Maks was set to be the titular bachelor on the American version of the show, but all hope seems lost on that front now. Without going into details, Maks confirms that he did, in fact, turn down a chance to appear on the original Bachelor program. So sad.

Does this mean that the prettiest of Dancing with the Stars hunks will soon be married and taken? Let's just hang on to the hope that, like Brad Womack before him, Maks will fail to pick one lady as his own. Because then we all still have a chance!
