But wait, there's more.
After ensuring that he'll be back on Dancing with the Stars following the new episode with former fiance Karina Smirnoff, Maksim Chmerkovskiy said that Donny Osmond deserved to win the mirror ball trophy this season.
"Given what the show is," he qualified to Pop Eater, which, coincidentally first reported that Dancing with the Stars is torn between feuding Maks and Karina on future seasons.
The resident
DWTS bad boy said Donny's way with the audience clinched the deal.
"There are certain things you have to do to win the crowd," he said. "Mya was obviously one of the best dancers we've ever had on our show but I think her and Dmitry didn't get the message across how much she wanted to win."
Speaking of Karina, Maks admits that they do not talk at all.
"It's a shame but unfortunately that's the way things are. Whatever happened is private and will remain that way unless she decides to talk about it. In all honesty it's a lesson learned and I've got to thank her for being a great instructor in the lesson of what not to look for in a woman."
As for his post-
Dancing with the Stars plans, Maks is headed to Broadway with Donny's professional partner Kym Johnson. The smash hit
Burn the Floor kicked off on November 27.
For his part, Maks said he enjoys Broadway so much more because
DWTS can be very stressful, and not just on the dancing part, whereas theater allows him to just do what he loves - dance.
"[
Dancing with the Stars] is also about dealing with your partner and their insecurities. You turn into not just a dancer and an instructor, but also a psychiatrist and a shoulder to cry on."
