Former 'Dancing with the Stars' Actor Featured in Comedy Film

After landing a guest role on CSI: NY following his exposure on Dancing with the Stars season three, Joey Lawrence will now grace the silver screen. The 31-year-old actor will be featured in director Jeff Parkin’s comedy film entitled Together Again for the First Time.

Although he was mostly visible on the small screen, Joey Lawrence previously worked in films like The Pool 2, Pandora's Box, and Tequila Body Shots. Known for his role as Joey Russo on the 1990s sitcom Blossom, he perked up his acting career when he became a contestant on Dancing with the Stars in 2006. His exposure from the celebrity dance program upshot a 3-episode arc appearance on CSI: NY and now a role in the upcoming movie.

In Together Again for the First Time, the former Dancing with the Stars contestant will portray the role of Carey Krzyznyk, along with Julia Duffy as Audrey Wolders Frobisher, David Ogden Stiers as Max Frobisher, and Kirby Heyborne as Roger Wolders among others.

Written by Jeff Parkin and Reed McColm, the movie tells the story of a merged family reuniting on Christmas Eve. For the first time in seven years, the family reunites only to discover that matters have gone worst between the family members. More complications arise, including the arrival of an unexpected boyfriend, an unannounced live television broadcast and the revelation of well-kept family secrets.

Slated for release this year, the film is produced by Asgaard Entertainment with James Huntsman, Reed McColm, and Jeff Parkin.

Meanwhile, this isn’t Lawrence’s only upcoming film. He has also landed a part in the comedy-horror flick Killer Pad. Directed by Robert Englund and written by Dan Stoller, the plot centers on three friends as they move into a haunted house in the Hollywood Hills. Lawrence stars as himself, along with Daniel Franzese as Doug,Eric Jungmann as Craig, and Shane McRae as Brody.
