Pay attention carefully, because Halloween is messing with Dancing with the Stars tonight. But you don't have to be scared, since we've got everything you need to know right here. Time changes, musical guests and fancy, Halloween (and Christmas?)-themed numbers are coming our way.
Time ChangeFirst up,
Dancing with the Stars will start a little bit late tonight. The Monday, October 31 episode of the
DWTS performance show will start at 8:30pm instead of its normal 8pm. Why, you ask? Because ABC will also be airing is special
Scared Shrekless cartoon in that first half hour.
If you can't wait for your
DWTS fix, there is some consolation. During breaks in
Scared Shrekless, there will be special, live, behind-the-scenes footage from
Dancing with the Stars to help you get through the cartoons. That's worth something, right?
This Week's MusicIf you've gotten used to musical acts showing up during the Monday night performance show, you will be sorely disappointed this week. On the other hand, the sensationalistic nature of the acts that
will perform during
Dancing with the Stars: The Results Show on Tuesday should make up for it.
Justin Bieber will be there to perform a Christmas carol with Boyz II Men.
Yes, you just read that right.
Because November 1 is apparently the start of the Christmas season now,
Dancing with the Stars will feature a song from Justin Bieber's upcoming Christmas album
Under the Mistletoe. Bieber himself is not legit enough for Christmas music, so that album will feature Mariah Carey, Usher, Busta Rhymes and The Band Perry, in addition to Boyz II Men
Singer-songwriter Christina Perri will also perform, accompanying a dance performance by teen cancer survivor Victoria Rose Viren.
The Actual DancingDon't worry. There will be dancing amidst all of this chaos. There will actually be more dancing than usual, since the remaining pairs will be divided into two teams for an extra performance this week.
The first group, "Team Tango" will consist of J.R. and Karina, Nancy and Tristan and David and Kym, dancing to "Disturbia" by Rihanna. "Team Paso," the other group -- Ricki and Derek, Hope and Maksim, and Rob and Cheryl -- will perform to "Bring Me to Life" by Evanescence.
The scores from those dances will be added to the points earned by the individual performances this week. And they should be entertaining performances: All will be danced to "some of Halloween's favorite spooky tunes."
Will it all be a trick. Or a treat? We'll find out, starting at 8:30pm!
