The bottom of the
Dancing with the Stars competition belonged to
Jane Seymour. Seymour made the mistake of going for a dance that was ‘youthful.' This is playing into the wrong aspect of her graceful aging. She looks and dances fantastic, but that does not mean she looks young, or even needs to play it young. The result is a session that looks painfully out of place. The judges award her a 22, putting her in a vulnerable situation seeing as though she was in the bottom two last week.
Marie Osmond felt she had something to prove after her fainting incident last week. She managed to stay on her feet all night, but not gracefully enough to avoid the bottom rung, coming in next to last for the night with a 23.
Sabrina Bryan starts out her segment with a clip detailing her week of grueling Cheetah Girls work. Her exhaustion is so obvious in the flashbacks, and even more so on the floor. She is absolutely limp tonight.
Dancing with the Stars is clearly not what got her attention over the last week. The result was a devastating slide for the top runner. Bryan scored a 25. This huge a slide means Bryan will have to bounce back strong at this late stage in the
Dancing with the Stars game.
Cameron Mathison was the first of the men to represent, going all out with a wild and sex Samba. The routine sort of bemused Len and Bruno, but Carrie loved it, helping them elevate to 25 and tie with Sabrina.
Jennie Garth and
Derek Hough really stole the show with a Mambo that was creatively choreographed albeit imperfect. The imperfections were really minute in the face of the mastery the duo displayed. It was easily the best performance of the night and earned the starlet kudos across the board from the judges, and a cool 27.
Helio Castroneves and
Julianne Hough regained scoring glory with a cha cha that was natural and compelling. The performance allowed the race car driver and last year's champ to ease into second place with a 28.
Melanie Brown was determined to hold onto her top position, particularly since despite her exemplary scoring, Mel B has been a visitor to the bottom two. Along with Maksim, Mel B secured a perfect 30. Is Mel B a contender to win? Winners have stepped in the red light before.
All around, a surprising night of
Dancing with the Stars competition. Mel and Maksim took the top spot with the least rehearsal time out of all the couples, but Helio shot back up the ladder to prove he is still a contender. Jennie Garth, despite the scoring of the evening, delivered the most demanding performance, despite a few awkward timing moments. Who will be eliminated? Check back tomorrow to find out.
