Plenty of opportunities have knocked on Shawn Johnson's door ever since she became the season 8 champ of Dancing with the Stars. But, as reported previously, the 17-year-old Olympian isn't sure yet of what she wants to focus on in the future. There's gymnastics, particularly the 2012 London Olympics, and then there's also dancing, which she has excelled at and enjoyed for the past 11 weeks. One thing's for sure, though. She's not going to hang up her heels just because Dancing with the Stars is over.
"I would love to keep dancing. Mark [Ballas] and I have events we're going to dance at. There's a winter tour we might do and stuff next season. It just depends, but I would love to keep dancing," Johnson told TV Guide.
"I will go back and see if that's what I still want to do and if that's where my heart is," the
Dancing with the Stars champ said of her pursuit of gymnastics. "It's all about finding something I enjoy that makes me happy. I haven't decided on 2012 yet since I haven't really been in the gym."
Evidently, dancing and gymnastics aren't the only things Johnson is contemplating to do.
"Honestly, I'm just taking it one day at a time," she added. "I've been getting a lot of opportunities -- books and TV shows and stuff like that -- so it just depends on what I want to do. I don't even know [what show I've been offered]! I don't know if I'm going to do it. We'll see!"
For a brief moment, however, Johnson traded her dancing shoes for a racing helmet on Sunday as she changed a tire and spent time with legendary driver Bobby Allison before the Coca-Cola 600. She watched the race with her parents before heading to San Francisco for a charity dancing event with former Olympic figure skater and
Dancing with the Stars season 6 champ Kristi Yamaguchi.
Would you like Shawn Johnson to continue dancing?
