It’s finale week on Dancing with the Stars season 21, but one couple won’t make it to Tuesday night. Only three couples will advance to Tuesday night for the 24-hour fusion challenge and a shot at the Mirror Ball, so which pair will be eliminated on Monday night.

THE LEADERBOARD

60: Bindi Irwin, Carlos PenaVega
57: Alek Skarlatos
54: Nick Carter

Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough: Not only is Bindi tied at the top of the leaderboard, but she is extremely loveable and has Derek as a partner. Sure, Derek has been eliminated in fourth place for the past two seasons (with Nastia Liukin and Bethany Mota), but this time he will most likely break that pattern.

Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson: Carlos is tied with Bindi on top and, since his wife was eliminated, he undoubtedly picked up a lot of her supporters. However, he might have the least compelling personal story out of the remaining four stars. Bindi is an inspiration after her father’s death, Alek is a hero and Nick Carter has 20 years in a beloved boy band. If it comes down to a simple popularity contest, he could be in danger.

Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold: There’s no denying that Alek is the worst dancer left. Sure he finally got a perfect score (something that, oddly, Carlos has yet to do), but his season-long average score is the lowest by far, even lower than the scores of Alexa and Tamar. But none of that really matters because when it comes to voting, he’s an all-American hero and is probably going to get more than enough support to stick around.

Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess: This is the first time since week 3 that Bindi, Carlos or Nick scored lower than Alek. Being at the bottom is very bad for Nick, especially against such strong competition. He had an off night at the start of the semifinals and that could be enough to send him home. He’s going to have to rely very heavily on Backstreet Boys fans to vote for him, or he’s gone.

MY PREDICTION

Unfortunately, I predict that Nick and Sharna will be eliminated. Between Bindi’s smile, Carlos’ wife’s support and Alek’s heroism, I just don’t see the Backstreet Boy mustering up enough votes to overtake any of them on the leaderboard.

The two-part Dancing with the Stars finale airs Monday at 8pm and Tuesday at 9pm on ABC.
