Everything is about to change on Dancing with the Stars
For the first time ever, the show is doing a Switch-Up in which the
remaining nine stars will be paired with brand new pro partners for one
On top of that drama, week 4 brings back guest judge and former champion Julianne Hough as well as another elimination. Last week there were a lot of big scores with Meryl Davis earning the first 10s of the season and six of the stars getting 35 or more out of 40. Will one of those three lowest scores go home or are we in store for our first shocking elimination?DEFINITELY SAFE
Meryl Davis scored a 39 out of 40, getting the first 10s of the season and cementing herself as the best dancer. Only seven other stars have ever received 10s in the first three weeks of the competition, and all of them finished in the Top 3.
The cream has risen to the top, with Charlie White, James Maslow, Danica McKellar and Amy Purdy all scoring 36 out of 40 last week. I may not agree with Amy's high scores, but her personal story is so moving that she's guaranteed to get big votes. At this point, I'd be shocked if these stars aren't the Final 5.IN THE MIDDLE
Cody Simpson is a bit of a mystery to me. He gets good scores, has obvious dance ability and has more Twitter followers (6.5 million) than the 11 other stars this season combined. Yet I feel like he could go home surprisingly early because it's hard to connect to him. Maybe that's just because he's so young, but I suspect he'll be the big shocking elimination of the season.
Also on the bubble is Candace Cameron Bure. She started strong but has fallen quickly and definitely does not have the judges on her side. Mark Ballas' comment about her being "worse than Bristol Palin" when it comes to wardrobe is a blessing and a curse, as it turns off some viewers, but the religious voters who kept Bristol safe until the finale will most likely line up behind her.IN DANGER
Now that Billy Dee Williams, Diana Nyad and Sean Avery are gone, it's obvious that Drew Carey and NeNe Leakes are at the bottom of the ladder. Their scores and dancing aren't terrible, unless you compare them to the stiff competition this season. I'm guessing they will be the next two to go, and while NeNe may have beaten Drew by 1 point last week, I believe he's more likeable than she is.MY PREDICTION
I predict that NeNe Leakes will be eliminated this week. The Switch-Up will most likely help her out, but I don't think it will be enough. The height disparity with Derek Hough or Mark Ballas would be problematic, but NeNe will probably wind up getting one of the Chmerkovskiy brothers as a partner. Still, it's doubtful she'll suddenly rocket to the top, or even the middle, of the leaderboard.
