Country singer Jewel was originally one of the 13 celebrity contestants competing on Dancing with the Stars season 8 but her stint on the competitive reality series was cut short due to a leg injury she sustained during rehearsals for the show. Then again, she remains optimistic that she’ll be able to hit dance floor in the future.

“I was thinking about it,” Jewel told Hollyscoop of the possibility of seeing her on the next season of Dancing with the Stars. “My leg is coming along. I think it’s almost better. I’m going to try to do some yoga soon and hopefully get back to working out a little.”

Jewel initially dismissed the pain in her legs as soreness from daily rehearsals. After seeking medical attention, she was shocked learn that the diagnosis was more serious than expected. Consequently, she was replaced by Girls Next Door star Holly Madison on the show.

While Jewel is hoping to join the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars, she’s aware of how difficult it’s going to be, especially since her husband Ty Murray is also a contestant on the show.

“He works long days. It’s like he’s a coal miner except he goes off to the dance mines every morning resigned with his head down he’s gone from 8 in the morning to 8 at night. It’s just unbelievable how much he’s working.”

It seems that Ty’s hard work has paid off. This week, he impressed the judges with his rendition of the waltz and got a score of 24 out of 30 – a big improvement with from last week’s 18. He was also saved from elimination on this week’s Results Show which means he’s coming back next week on Dancing with the Stars.
