Heather Mills, one of the contestants of
Dancing with the Stars season four, is confident that her prosthetic leg will not impinge on her performance. In fact, she puts a little humor in the absurd issue. Mills told Extra, "I have no fear. I'm quite happy to be thrown around... and hopefully my leg will stay on…It's very, very unlikely my leg's going to fly off. Even though it would be quite funny to knock one of the judges out."
The fourth season of the reality series
Dancing with the Stars is just around the corner. On Monday, March 19, at 8PM ET/PT, the show will premier with a special two-hour episode, which ultimately showcases celebrities paired with a professional dancer in an effort to win a high score from a panel of judges, as well as from viewers who calls in and vote on line.
Mills, a 39-year old activist, is known to be the ex-wife of infamous Beatles member Sir Paul McCartney. She is also popularly known for being an advocate of peace, animal rights and justice, garnering several awards and recognitions like the UNESCO Children in Need Award and the Human Security Award. At present she works as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Association of the USA. Prior to her marriage to Paul, she was engaged in an accident that resulted to her need to amputate her left leg. Now, she moves around with a prosthetic leg.
But although Mills is optimistic, she admits that her condition requires more careful preparation and planning for her inclusion in
Dancing with the Stars, compared to other contestants. She adds, "We're trying to work out which [leg] is going to work for which heel height, because what people don't realize is that when you have a leg made, it is only made specifically for your height…So you can't go from a high-heel leg and put your [training shoes on]. You got to swap your legs."
