It's the home stretch. Dancing with the Stars
season 7 will begin on Monday, September 22. For the first time in the show's history, all 13 couples will have to prepare two separate routines for the first week. Everyone will get a chance to perform on Monday night, but only 12 will come back on Tuesday to perform their second routine. Then, on Wednesday, the judges' scores will be combined with viewers' votes for the first results show.
We've taken a look at almost all of the celebrities on this year's cast list. Today, let's take a look at the patron saint of Jumping The Shark, Ted McGinley, and his professional partner, Inna Brayer.
I was all ready to write off Ted McGinley as just another hack actor who'll get voted off right away until I saw his rehearsal photos. I was really impressed with his strong posture and his stern, no-nonsense expression. He looks like he's really getting into his role, and I can see him advancing far in the competition, especially with Inna Brayer leading the way.
Ted McGinley is most known for his stints on Married…with Children
and Hope & Faith
. This 50-year-old-actor has been accused of single-handedly ruining the shows that he joins, including Happy Days
, the Love Boat
, among others. Hopefully, he won't lay waste to Dancing with the Stars
as well. Actually, I don't think he will. Dancing with the Stars
is here to stay.
Inna Brayer is a newcomer to Dancing with the Stars
this year, but she is fantastically talented. She is the current United States Amatueur 10 Dance Champion. “10 Dance” means that she is proficient in and competes in all five standard ballroom styles and all five Latin styles. Competing in 10 Dance requires an enormous amount of dedication, hard work, talent and skill.
I've discovered a YouTube video of her from PBS' America's Ballroom Challenge 2007. She and her partner Pasha Pashkov performed a samba, but as you can see from the video, they interlaced the samba with elements of paso doble. I found the mixed and matched style of their routine very beautiful and entertaining, and I'm hoping that she'll bring that same kind of creativity to her routines on Dancing with the Stars
. You can tell from this performance below that she is beautiful and talented. For her sake, I hope that Ted McGinley is as good as his pictures make him out to be.
