With only five teams remaining in this season's
Dancing with the Stars competition, it's really anyone's game.
Cristian de la Fuente upset the leaderboard last night and walked away with three 10s, leaving
Kristi Yamaguchi, normally in the number two spot.
Marissa Jaret Winokur ended the night at the very bottom, despite performing two solid routines.
Read on to see what transpired in this 100th episode of
Dancing with the Stars.
After last night's performances, this is what the leaderboard looked like:
1. Cristian and Cheryl - 57
2. Kristi and Mark - 55
3.
Mario and Karina - 53
4. Jason and Edyta - 52
5. Marissa and Tony - 50
It took approximately 50 minutes of filler to get to the business of who was going and who was staying. In the order that they were announced, the couples who will be returning for at least one more week to dance in the semi-finals are: Marissa and Tony, Kristi and Mark, Cristian and Cheryl, and Jason and Edyta. This means that R&B singing sensation Mario has been eliminated. He and Karina danced their last dance to Ms. Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive."
And for the filler. Instead of an encore tonight, the entire professional cast from all six season came out and danced a big group number. Rascal Flatt's performed two songs, "Every Day" and "Live is a Highway," accompanied by
Apolo Anton Ohno and
Julianne Hough for the former, and
Melanie Brown and
Maksim Chmerkovskiy for the latter.
Season 3 runner-up
Mario Lopez and the cast of the Broadway musical
A Chorus Line performed a mildly entertaining rendition of "One" from the show. Other celebrities from past seasons who made an appearance included
Stacy Keibler,
Lisa Rinna,
Jerry Springer.
Vivica A. Fox,
Joey Fatone,
Kenny Mayne and
Sabrina Bryan.
All in all, it was a rather dull results show, 100th episode of
Dancing with the Stars notwithstanding. The hour could have been improved immensely if they just brought back those kids in the Ballroom Kids competition, but I believe they will be back next week.
