Are people changing their minds about Aaron Carter on Dancing with the Stars? E! Online reports that the former pop star was absolutely inconsolable at the backstage of the ABC dancing show after his elimination. Didn't all the crying turn off some viewers in the past?

"Of course it's sad. You know how it is. But I'm glad we made it this far," he said, while pro partner Karina Smirnoff added that it feels "empty" - "Like we were taken away."

Aaron and Karina were part of this season's final five, finally getting the boot after several visits to the bottom two. They were highly regarded as unpopular, evidenced by their amazing jive last week. The dance earned a 29 from the judges, but still landed them in the bottom 3 and had to do a dance-off against Mark Dacascos, who were eventually sent home.

Now that he's gone, though, are people having second thoughts about being too harsh on Aaron? After all, if only averages are to be considered, Kelly Osbourne should have gone home before Aaron.

Nevertheless, Donny Osmond, who successfully glides to the final four, is sympathetic to Aaron's plight (as seen on this very sentimental photo).

"He's a teen idol. I'm a former teen idol, so we have that common denominator, and we had some really good talks. I'm so proud of him. The guy worked his tail off. We're going to miss him."

Kelly confirmed this and gave him credit for putting on a good show week after week despite coming in as not exactly a fan favorite.

"Aaron came every week and kicked butt, even with everything everyone was saying about him."
