It was Bachelor and Dancing with the Stars alum Melissa Rycroft who announced the present batch of celebs who'll compete on this season of Dancing with the Stars, prompting a lot to speculate that the choice had been made regarding the vacant Dancing with the Stars co-host spot once season 10 kicks off in two weeks.

But Star Magazine is reporting that the job is going to none other than Dancing with the Stars season 7 winner Brooke Burke, winning it over Rycroft and Vanessa Minnillo, both of whom tried out for the part and got as far as screen tests. Another noted DWTS alum, former Spice Girl Mel B. has reportedly tried out as well.

She posted via Twitter mid-February: "By the way, the news about me hosting Dancing with the Stars is true. I am screen testing next week for the job, fingers crossed! It would be amazing to be back!"

Other than winning the seventh season of DWTS, 38-year-old Burke also posed for Playboy, as have last season's Joanna Krupa and this season's Pamela Anderson. Coincidentally, both Burke and Krupa partnered with professional Derek Hough, who this season will have yet another bombshell to waltz with, head Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.

Harris announced that she was leaving the show in late January to focus on her other jobs at The Insider and Entertainment Tonight Weekend.
