If this rumor is to be believed,it looks like ABC has found their new Kate Gosselin. At least when it comes to the "You've got to see this" factor.
E! Online reports they've learned exclusively that Bristol Palin, Sarah Palin's 19-year-old daughter, has been cast on
Dancing with the Stars season 11, set to premiere on September 20.
My knee-jerk response to this news? A big, loud, horrified "Noooooooo!" But in the minute or so I've had to process this information, I've already thought of several reasons watching Palin on
DWTS could be a fabulous thing:
1. Bruno Tonioli's endless Palin and baby jokes. I can already hear our little Italian bad boy giggling from behind the judges' table. He's going to have a freaking
field day.2. Didn't Bristol recently call Levi Johnston out as a fame whore for
his new reality show? The hypocrisy is simply delicious.
3. Every time I see her dance, I'll also be imagining Sarah Palin getting red in the face as she watches her eldest daughter in a slinky, next-to-nothing garment grinding on a super-hot Russian ballroom boy. (RUSSIA! She can see it from her house.)
4. Did you see
her Secret Life of the American Teenager cameo? Girlfriend's barely got a pulse. And in that role, she was just
talking. So there's simply no way she is a good dancer. Entertainment value, check!
The other names mulling around the
Dancing with the Stars rumor mill:
Jersey Shore star
Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino,
Hills star
Audrina Patridge, "When a Man Loves a Woman" curly-haired crooner
Michael Bolton, sister of Ray-J
Brandy and
David "The Hoff" Hasselhoff.E! also reports that, according to their sources, rumored contestants
Kirstie Alley,
Ali Fedotowsky and
Roberto Martinez are just those--
rumors.
Thanks for listening, ABC.As always, ABC won't say a word until the official casting announcement on August 30 during
Bachelor Pad. Consider me officially excited.
