Season 2
Dancing with the Stars winner
Drew Lachey will take to the stage again, only this time, as host of a new
Dancing with the Stars spinoff. The new show is entitled
Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann, a six-week-long series that will air this winter on ABC. Open auditions for the new reality series are being held this month.
Dancing with the Stars judges Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba will go head to head on the dance floor showing off their choreographic prowess. They are currently scouring the country for talented amateur singers and dancers at open auditions in New York, Los Angeles and Nashville.
Once the contestants are chosen, they team up with either Bruno or Carrie Anna to compete in both song and dance in order to form "the ultimate dance team." Viewing audiences at home will choose which performers get to stay and which must leave in this live, hour-long reality show.
Dancing with the Stars returns on Monday, September 24, with celebrity lineup including billionaire Dallas Mavericks basketball team owner Mark Cuban, Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Josie Maran and iconic Las Vegas entertainer Wayne Newton.
This season will also mark the first time in
Dancing with the Stars history that there will be 12 celebrities—six men and six women—competing for the title, the largest cast on the show to date. The first week's competition will feature a showdown between the women and the men. The women will show off their moves on September 24, and the men will take their turn the following night, on Tuesday September 25. Grammy Award-winning country music icon Dolly Parton will grace the dancing stage with a performance on the results show on Wednesday September 26, to kick off three straight nights of
Dancing with the Stars during the first week.
