Abby Lee takes another risk this week and goes a little nutty both in her choreography and with her competition team. The theme of their latest routine is 'asylum' and the girls have to act like they are patients of a mental hospital ... although I guess this should be pretty easy considering the dance teacher they see every day. If this weren't a challenge enough for a group of 8-13 year olds, Abby goes mental herself when she invites a completely new girl to dance with the team. Has this EVER happened? Not without weeks of probation and threats it hasn't. What's gotten into Abby? Has she changed her ways? Will the new girl fit in with the others? Let's jump right into tonight's episode and find out!
She's Got 'Divatude'Yes
-- you heard that right, 'divatude' is the word brought to us by Abby
Lee's newest dance mom and daughter. Kaya is one major diva of a dance
mom, and she definitely isn't backing down to the other moms or to Abby.
I'm actually shocked that she had the nerve to walk into the studio and
almost demand that her daughter be part of the dance team. Has she ever
watched this show? It's next to impossible to demand anything from
Abby, so it really shows the guts that this new mom has. And not to
sound like a snotty dance diva, but I happen to agree that Nikaya should
have the knowledge that the other girls do about dance terminology and
acrobatic skills. I'm not sure I'm digging this new mom's 'divatude' and
after all, Abby has standards, and so far the new girl really isn't
stacking up.
Paige v. Nikaya -- Who Will Compete in LA?
Once
again Kelly blows up and storms out of the studio, but this time it's
understandable. Abby keeps switching back and forth between Paige and
Nikaya for the group number, and she waits until the very last second to
let the moms and girls know who exactly will be in the routine. I have
to say, if I flew all the way to LA just to be told I MIGHT be in a
dance number, I'd be pissed too. While running the number over and over
in the dressing room, Abby finally decides to let both girls be part of
the group dance, but I can't say that I'm satisfied with this decision. A
small part of me wants this new girl to work for her spot on the team
just like the others have done in the past, and this all seemed a little
too easy for them. I just hope that we don't see her on the pyramid
next week, especially considering Kendall is still working her butt off
just to make it to the bottom of the pyramid.
And the Winners Are...The
ALDC! Their off-beat routine must have impressed the judges because
they pulled off a first place win. The same can't be said for this
week's soloists, but at least Abby's group number showed up the
California competition. It wouldn't be an episode of
Dance Moms
if it didn't end with a big blowout, and this week is no different. Kaya
decides to stir up trouble with every other mom, and she has the mouth
to back it up. I don't think we've heard this much swearing ever on the
show, so it should be interesting if this one sticks around.
Next
week Brooke records a song (Did anyone know she sang?), and the girls
look like they will be her back up singers and dancers. What do you
think of tonight's episode? Do you like the new mom and daughter? Did
you like Abby's asylum number? Leave your comments and come back next
week for your
Dance Moms drama!
