Playing a one-time billionaire on the small screen might be a real treat for Ted Danson, as he continues portraying his role on the FX series Damages. It was an exciting turn of events for him, accepting the job immediately upon learning Glenn Close was his co-star. Now that the series is on its second season, the renowned actor recently appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to discuss his role and career.
Even though he's busy with his numerous television appearances, Ted Danson was still best known for his portrayal of the lead character Sam Malone on the hit sitcom Cheers. She talked to the host about his previous stint on her show, with Ellen DeGeneres stating that it's been two years since he was last featured on Ellen.
Ted Danson has already been nominated for both a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award, due to his supporting role on
Damages. Taking note of the fact that his antagonistic character is a welcome change in his career, the actor said: "It's so relaxing."

As for his career, Ted Danson is gaining even more attention despite his age. With more experience in the industry, there's no doubt he's one of TV's most wanted actors. He's been famous for his roles in
Curb Your Enthusiasm and stints on
Becker, but there's certainly more to come for him.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the actor is all set to appear on the upcoming HBO crime-comedy
Bored to Death. The series is about a struggling Brooklyn writer played by Jason Schwartzman, who relies on what he reads in detective novels to moonlight as a private investigator.
On the new show, get to catch Danson play the lead character's pompous friend and mentor, who is a magazine editor as well. Joining them are Zach Galifianakis, Parker Posey and Kristen Wiig.
Bored to Death airs this September on HBO, but you can see Ted Danson on
Damages every Wednesday at 10pm on FX.
