FX's Damages: Meet the Cast

Coming this summer is an FX new original legal thriller entitled Damages. With an initial 13-episode order, the network is scheduled to broadcast the series on Tuesday, July 24 at 10pm.

Set in the high-stakes legal world of New York City, Damages explores power and success through the turbulent lives of a renowned high-stakes litigator and her ambitious young protégé. Engulfed in a class action lawsuit targeting one of the richest CEOs in the country, they become exposed to treacherous and deceitful battle that puts their personal lives at stake.

Leading the cast is Glenn Close as Patty Hewes, the nation's most revered litigator whose true colors remain to be seen. This 60-year old award-winning actress is popularly known for her roles in Fatal Attraction, Dangerous Liaisons and Sunset Boulevard.

Playing Patty Hewes’ bright protégé Ellen Parsons is Rose Byrne who becomes front witness to the corrupt and shady world of litigation. Byrne is an Australian actress credited for her work in Two Hands, Troy, Marie-Antoinette, and Sunshine.

Joining the cast is Ted Danson as the allegedly corrupt Arthur Frobisher, one of the country’s richest CEOs. Danson is best known for his long-running comedy series Cheers, where he played the character Sam Malone. He is also known as John Becker on the sitcom Becker.

Serving as Arthur Frobisher’s attorney Ray Fiske is Željko Ivanek. His television appearances include The West Wing, The Practice and Ally McBeal among others.

Other cast members include Tate Donovan (The O.C.) as senior legal associate Tom Shayes, Noah Bean (Crumbs) as Ellen’s boyfriend, and Anastasia Griffith (Alfie) as Ellen’s best friend and David’s sister who works as a chef.

Damages is directed by Allen Coulter and is produced and written by Daniel Zelman, Glenn Kessler, and Todd A. Kessler.
