While HBO President Michael Lombardo was reluctant to make any promises, he did say that he has every intention of producing the seventh season of
Curb Your Enthusiasm during this summer's Television Critics Press Tour.
Curb Your Enthusiasm, the improvised show starring
Seinfeld co-creator
Larry David as himself, ended its sixth season last November with an episode that found Cheryl David (
Cheryl Hines) separating from husband Larry, who moves on by forging a relationship with Loretta Black. Soon, fans will find out how everything will turn out when the HBO series returns with new episodes, hopefully, by the end of next year.

Poor Mr. Larry / Laeddy always getting in trouble ...
Although the new season of
Curb Your Enthusiasm will return much later than expected, it reportedly had nothing to do with last fall's writers' strike.
“
Curb was not a function of the writer's guild, it was just Larry's schedule,” Lombardo explained. “Larry finishes a season, thinks about it. He happens to be acting in a Woody Allen film right now. Once he's done, he plans to get back to the show, so hopefully by the end of next year, we'll be back with Season 7. However, I hate to say ‘guarantee.' He hasn't started shooting, so until that happens, I don't want to use the word guarantee, but yeah, we're counting on it.”
Meanwhile, this will give Larry David enough time to write the 10-episode planned season. At present, he is working with Woody Allen for a new movie, which is still unnamed, so production of
Curb Your Enthusiasm won't presumably commence until the fall. And though David hasn't shared his ideas for the upcoming season with the network, rumors are already circulating that the seventh season story arc will include Larry working on a Woody Allen movie, much like he did in real life.
