For die-hard fans of HBO cult hit Curb Your Enthusiasm, the wait until fall may seem insufferable, but at least solace can be found in the fact that the series was renewed, unlike others that are not so fortunate.
Meanwhile, Curb Your Enthusiasm star Cheryl Hines, who plays Larry David's wife on the hit comedy, recently sat down with Miami Herald to talk about her role on the hit series, particularly the fact that she is 18 years older than her on-screen husband. Hines also recently confirmed that she'd be back for the mockumentary's 7th season.
"I asked my agent before I went in to audition, `How old do you think I am?' He said, 'Just go in. Have a great audition and maybe you'll get cast in something else. At least you'll get to meet them.' I was pretty relaxed about it. It was improv. I had nothing to prepare. I wasn't worried about my lines or anything, and they told me this character has heard it all from Larry before. She puts up with him. She can call him out on stuff, and that was it.''
On the first day of work, 43-year-old Hines said the
Curb Your Enthusiasm creator came running after her as she was heading to the elevator, and said "If this becomes something else, I'd like you to play my wife."
Of course, Hines said yes. "I said, 'I think something just happened. Maybe something's going on I don't know about.' I remember feeling my life just changed, but I didn't know how.''
Hines, who's now starring in the new ABC sitcom
In the Motherhood, revealed she started off as a bartender at the Intercontinental Hotel in Los Angeles, while doing bit parts in Hollywood. ''I was bartending, and I had fallen in love with this investment banker I thought was the man of my dreams. He turned out to be a cheater, and I broke up with him,'' she said.
Curb Your Enthusiasm airs late this year.
