Liev Schreiber has signed on to join the cast of CSI in a recurring role. Schreiber will play a forensics expert who moves to Las Vegas and occasionally aids the team in their investigations. Schreiber is probably best known for his role as "Cotton Weary" in the "Scream" trilogy. Liev is an exceptional actor and all-around talent who, unfortunately, hasn't received the wide acclaim he deserves.
Liev Schreiber has made a career out of roles on the stage and in films, but this CSI gig will, amazingly, be his first real experience on television. Schreiber is also a talent behind-the-camera: last year, he directed his first film "Everything is Illuminated", starring Elijah Wood and based on the best-selling novel by Jonathan Safron Foer. Schreiber's first episode will air on January 9th. He will fill the temporary void left by William Peterson ("Grissom") while Peterson goes on hiatus to act in a play.
