The 15th episode of season 8 follows Grissom and his team as they discover several murder victims who have green blood, leading them to the conclusion that their deaths are somehow connected.
The installment opens in the police department where a woman wearing a tinfoil suit is talking about an invasion that will happen that night. She seems to be a regular, seeing that most of the policemen are used to her presence. She also seems to believe that her tinfoil suit will protect her from the looming attack.
Meanwhile, the CSI team is in the investigation room trying to interrogate a drunken man in a flannel shirt. The man tries to escape the police station but to no avail as a group of uniformed officers charges forward. An officer pulls out his Taser and aims at the man. But as the electric prods shoot out of the Taser, it hits the man's flannel shirt, which shockingly explodes into flames.
While the team has to figure out how this man mysteriously burst into flames, they also end up dealing with a series of unusual deaths involving some green blood beginning with the woman in the tinfoil suit who was killed by a truck driver blinded by a flash of light.
