"A Thousand Days On Earth" follows the forensic scientists as they investigate the death of a little girl whose identity remains unknown.
The episode begins in a comedy club where a cocky and crude comedian named Adam Spence delights his crowd, with the exception of one offended audience member who leaves in a huff.
After the show, Adam goes out behind the club to find his car in the dark parking lot. A car suddenly speeds toward him and he has to jump out of the way to avoid being hit. The car stops and backs up and the window rolls down. The man inside identifies Adam as the man they're looking for. Instead of attacking him, the man tells Adam that it was a great show, and Adam thanks him in return. After the car drives off, Adam turns around and jumps when he sees a figure standing next to him. The stranger asks if he's OK after nearly being hit by the car, and Adam says he'll be fine and watches the man as he walks away.
Adam finally finds his car only to make a shocking discovery. He sees a box on the ground at the edge of the parking lot. He goes to look inside and is mortified at what he sees: the body of a 3-year-old little girl, lying as though in a coffin.
As Jim Brass (Paul Guilfoyle
) makes a press conference in attempt to find out who the little girl is, the rest the CSIs analyze the box her body was found in, searching for some evidence that can help them find her killer.
