Looks like the
CSI franchise is falling in love with musicians lately. Nelly returned to
CSI: NY a couple of weeks back, and band Train's set to appear in an episode a couple of weeks from now. Then there's P. Diddy on
CSI: Miami last year. Surely
CSI had their own share of musician love, and the same goes next year, as the crime drama booked country band Rascal Flatts for an upcoming episode.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the band, responsible for hits such as "What Hurts the Most" and their cover of "Life Is A Highway", will star as themselves in an episode next year. (To boot, the episode is called "Unshockable", an obvious take on the band's recent album
Unstoppable.) Executive producer Carol Mendelsohn revealed that the band itself will be tangled up in a crime: "One of the guys ... will become the victim of a crime, [and] the other two 'Rascals' will be suspects ... thus, jeopardizing the future of the band."
Uhh... right. That sounds... interesting. Right. I'll be honest. This sounds a little hokey, and I don't think this will be a good match, but we'll see. I'll reserve judgment. If you're a fan of their music, though, this is a must-watch episode--there will be songs (but of course!) and you'll get to see the band act. Still. I'm not so sure...
...but don't get me wrong. I have nothing against their music. It's just, you know, the episode.
