Belated happy holidays, everyone -- and here's one more gift for you kids out there: casting news! Depends, really, if you're excited about these people or not. Anyway, let's begin:
Another pop star on CSI:
and this time, it's someone who had big hits a few years back. CSI Files reports
that Jesse McCartney is headed to an episode of the CBS drama set to air on February 15. He'll play Wes, a recent graduate who figures in a car crash after passing out while drivirng. He'll end up bonding with Nick (George Eads) as they figure out what happened.
(Side note: what is it with Nick and pop stars? He got to shoot Justin Bieber a year back, and before that, he got to bond with Taylor Swift.)
Anyway, McCartney's episode will be the same episode where Elisabeth Shue makes her CSI
debut. Marg Helgenberger's last episode will air on January 25: see the promo here
Are you there, Donna? It's me, Fez!
Wilmer Valderrama is set to guest star in an episode of NBC's Are You There, Chelsea?
starring his one-time That 70s Show
co-star Laura Prepon. "Wilmer comes to the bar and totally throws me for a look," Prepon told TV Guide
. "We have a couple of kissing scenes, which was really weird for us." Good on Fez for finally working on his issues.
One more reunion: two Sopranos giants meet again on Nurse Jackie.
Aida Turturro -- who played eccentric Janice Soprano on the acclaimed HBO series -- is headed to the Showtime comedy, reuniting with former co-star Edie Falco. TV Guide reports
that Turturro plays a lawyer named Laurel, who she describes as "tough" but "not a psychopath like Janice." Also, good to hear people working on their issues.
Rita Wilson is headed back to The Good Wife:
the actress confirmed the news herself on Twitter
over Christmas. She appeared in the show's second season as Viola Davis, a (former) friend of Diane's (Christina Baranski) who offers Alicia (Julianna Margulies) a job at her law firm. No word on when she'll return, though.
Finally, Natalie Morales is headed to Aaron Sorkin's new HBO project, The Newsroom.
The former White Collar
cast member will guest star as Kaylee, the girlfriend of Dev Patel's character, according to TVLine
. The series, set to premiere this summer, also features Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, Olivia Munn and Jane Fonda.
