Harold Perrineau on 'CSI: NY': 'It's A Lot Of Fun'
Harold Perrineau is returning to Lost tomorrow night, but that's not the only show he'll be popping up in this week: he's also making an appearance on this week's CSI: NY.

And judging from what we've heard about it so far, it's shaping up to be a huge episode. Anyone who follows Hill Harper's tweets would be excited too, seeing that the actor's calling it a landmark episode for his character, Sheldon Hawkes.

Wednesday night's episode, named "Redemptio", will reveal something about the past of the NYPD crime lab's medical examiner, as he is asked to meet a death row inmate (that'd be Perrineau) who has the urge to confess "a pretty big secret"--only for a prison riot to break out, and Hawkes finds himself face-to-face with a serial killer who framed him for murder years ago.

"It was a lot of fun," Perrineau told TV Guide Magazine. "I've been waiting to work with Hill for a long time. We've known each other for years and have been up against each other for a lot of different things, so it was fantastic to get a chance to work with him."

Folks who might be used to seeing Perrineau as Michael Dawson on Lost--and probably hasn't seen him on Oz--should expect to see a different side of the actor. "Reggie [Tifford, his character] is a little bit older, a little more rugged, and that's in sharp contrast to Michael," he said. "He's pretty prepared to die for his crime. You'd think he's a homicidal maniac, but he's a guy who had a really bad drug problem and he's about to pay for all of the mistakes he has made."

Harper himself was enthusiastic about Perrineau's stint on CSI: NY, calling him a "great actor" on Twitter and even suggesting that he deserves an Emmy for the guest performance.

As for tomorrow night's Lost, Perrineau isn't saying that much. "Michael is for sure blown up, but he winds up back on the island," he said. "The stuff written for Michael was cool--that's about as much as I can say."

But he's hopeful he'd return to Lost after this week's episode. "Maybe in the May finale?" he quipped. "I can tell you right now that as far as I know I'm not in the finale, but I didn't think I was going to be on at all this season!"
