When we last saw
CSI: NY, Mac offered himself in exchange for a hostage when a man named Doug took hostages during a failed attempt to rob a bank. Mac was forced to prove that the bank robber did not kill the bank manager, whose body was found lying in a pool of blood in the vault, while the rest of the team worked to process the evidence that Mac gathered and tried to stop the SWAT team from making matters worse. After further investigation, Mac discovered that Doug did not kill the bank manager and that he was already dead before he tried to rob the bank. Doug explained that he is the real hostage and had to follow orders from someone who was holding his family captive. Eventually, Doug was granted an unmarked police car as his escape vehicle with Mac along his side.
The fifth season of
CSI: NY kicks off with the episode “Veritas,” which revolves around the aftermath of the bank heist gone bad. Mac, who has been taken hostage by a bank robber, wakes up in submerged car with no memory of how he got there. Meanwhile, the rest of the team must put the pieces together to unravel the truth behind the bizarre heist and the mysterious man at its center, and at the same time, investigate the death of a woman named Lauren Santana, who is also linked to the bank robbery.
Mac may have escaped the robber but the bodies are still piling up. Will the team find the bank robber before he gets away? Don't forget to catch the premiere of
