“Hostage” the 21st installment of the fourth season of
CSI: NY, centers on a heist that has gone bad. According to CSI Files, the episode kicks off with an action-packed scene featuring a man that has taken a bank hostage. The bank manager's body is found in the bank's vault, though the gunman claims that he didn't shoot the man. He then demands that a CSI come in to prove his innocence.
Mac offers to trade himself for one of the hostages. He manages to make his way inside and reminds the gunman that they had a deal. Shortly after, one of the hostages is released into the street. Inside the bank, Mac tries to investigate the dead body and finds out that the victim was killed by a single gunshot wound to the chest. He also notices defensive wounds on the victim but sees no corresponding injuries on the gunman, prompting him to speculate that the gunman might be telling the truth.
The gunman eventually demands for a police car with a disabled GPS and requests the media to disappear. Mac takes out the bullet from the victim and sends it back to the lab, including a single strand of hair from the gunman. Later, they discover that there might be more to the bank robbery than meets the eye.
