tom sizemoreGolden Globe-nominated actor Tom Sizemore, whose personal struggle with drug addiction has become the subject of controversy, will appear on tonight's CSI: Miami as a private investigator who will attempt to destroy the tight-knit forensic team in the episode called “Down to the Wire.”

Read on to find out what's in store for the 20th installment of CSI: Miami's sixth season.

“Down to the Wire” follows Miami crime lab head Horatio Ciane (David Caruso) as he faces off with Private Investigator Kurt Rossi (Tom Sizemore) who is thoroughly destroying the team over a case involving a murder and a fake 911 call.

In addition, this episode also centers on the CSIs as they deal with the recent departure of Dr. Alexx Woods (Khandi Alexander), who decided to rethink her position after her son was implicated in a murder case.

Although Sizemore has had his own difficulties with the law in his personal life, including a public battle with drug addiction and a conviction for assault and battery against former girlfriend Heidi Fleiss, he remains active in the entertainment circuit.

After a succession of well-received supporting roles, Sizemore landed his major leading role as Vincent D'Agosta in The Relic.  He was also cast on the series China Beach as Vinny, who was in love with Dana Delaney's character.  He gained more exposure as he worked on Saving Private Ryan, Pearl Harbor, Black Hawk Down and HBO's Witness Protection.

Aside from his CSI: Miami gig, Sizemore has also been cast in upcoming films like Shadows in Paradise, Double Duty, Super Capers and Corrado, which are all expected to be released later this year.

Fans can catch Tom Sizemore tonight on CSI: Miami, which also stars Emily Procter, Adam Rodriguez, Jonathan Togo, Rex Linn and Eva La Rue, at 10pm ET/PT on CBS.
