It happened at the base of the world's largest waterfall, the majestic Victoria Falls at the southern part of Africa.
CSI: Miami star
Eva LaRue accepted the proposal of businessman Joe Cappuccio.
LaRue, 41, recently told
OK that she absolutely adores the 4-carat diamond engagement ring which Cappuccio slipped on her finger in May. The unique wedding proposal featured an exotic elephant ride and a helicopter tour over the same falls. Later on, they celebrated a party hosted by by jewelry designer Larry Brown of Browns Jewelers, the store based on the South African capital of Johannesburg which also serves the likes of Charlize Theron.
The happy couple is currently planning their summer 2009 wedding, but they are still largely undecided where it should be held. They reportedly plan to return to Africa, however, because it holds a “special place” in her heart.
"I was driven to tears and totally speechless as he placed the four-carat ring on my finger,” she says.
After two failed marriages with actors, LaRue expressed happiness over the course of her relationship with a guy who is not in show business.
"We hit it off, and we've been inseparable ever since. He owns a seafood company and exports fish all over the world,” she says . “A totally different business, which is awesome!”
Born in Long Beach, California, LaRue has appeared on
All My Children, where she got a Daytime Emmy Award nomination, but it was her role as Natalia Boa Vista on
CSI: Miami that has made her a household name among
CSI fans. In the show, she plays a victim of abuse who decided to create a new life on her own. Hired by Miami-Dade to pursue unsolved cases, it turned out to be merely a front by the feds to gather info and build a case against Horatio Cane and his team.
