This one's barely in, again courtesy of
Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello, who pretty much is filling that one gap which I forgot to mention in
yesterday's bit about the eighth season premiere of
CSI: Miami. You know, the one with the flashback circa 1997, the one with a definitely younger version of Horatio Caine, and the one with the... I'll continue it in the next paragraph. It's still a spoiler.
Okay. And the one with a comatose Delko looking back to his first murder crime, there. I actually forgot to mention Alexx Woods, who should still be with the team by the time of the flashback. I guess I got too excited with the bit about Speedle returning. Well, in that flashback episode airing September 21, it is confirmed that Khandi Alexander will be returning for that episode.
Tara haters, celebrate. You're getting your Alexx back.
The show's executive producer, Ann Donahue, confirmed that tidbit herself. But she's keeping a few things floating, since we're still talking about the past. Is Speedle returning? "We're talking to Rory [Cochrane] about coming back," she said. "We don't know if it's going to happen yet."
And then there's the one character we've almost forgotten, Megan Donner. You know, she who left MDPD during the first season because of a lack of chemistry with Horatio, or, err, because work reminded her too much of her husband? I think the writers have had that chemistry issue in mind. "We love Kim [Delaney but] we didn't approach her to do this," Donahue said. "We [may] mention that Megan is on a task force in Tallahassee."
Which sounds like an easy way out, but for those who still think the hole Alexx's departure left is still unfilled, well, there you have it. It may be just one episode, but it'd be like you had her again. Now, to find Tara's actual replacement...
Khandi Alexander's one-off return to CSI: Miami: Good idea or bad idea?
