Who shot Horatio Caine? Fans will find out in September when
CSI: Miami returns for its seventh season. The forensic drama has left viewers with quite a season finale, in which Horatio (
David Caruso) was shot and left for dead. While the suspense is probably killing the fans of the hit CBS series, it has also allowed the writers of the show to play with a story arc that will unfold for the rest of the season.
Warning: May contain spoilers.
As reported previously, Horatio, the head of the Miami crime lab, will be back for the seventh season of
CSI: Miami. And while the writers will be setting up a cool mystery of who tried to kill Horatio, a list of possible suspects has already emerged.
“There were quite a lot of potential suspects when Horatio went down. Not only did [his son] Kyle [Evan Ellingson] have a gun and could possibly have done it, but Kyle's mother, Julia Winston [Elizabeth Berkley], also has a vested interest in getting rid of Horatio because she'd just gotten married to Ron Saris [Kim Coates], who is Horatio's nemesis. Let's just say that Ryan Wolfe [
Jonathan Togo] may be playing both sides. He may be taking an opportunity here to get ahead,” writer Corey Miller told
TV Guide.
Horatio's storyline may seem a little hazy at this point but soon viewers will have a better understanding of what really transpired when season 7 airs this coming fall.
“I think we'll have a pretty good sense of what happened pretty early on in the fall,” Miller said. “But as far as the ramifications of what happened, that should last through the season. A couple of our characters are going darker, Horatio included. It's going to be like
Who shot J.R.?"
Meanwhile, fans can catch reruns of
CSI: Miami every Monday at 10pm on CBS.
