In the 11th episode of season 6, Horatio and his team try to make sense of the horrific sight in a warehouse.  The crime scene shows a rain of bloody mist instead of the remains of victims, Pedro Rupan (Chad Guerrero), Eddie Padura (Patrick Wolff), and Hector Malcas (Eddie Diaz), gun smugglers who were preparing to sell weapons to the Middle East.  As forensic scientists delve deeper into the investigation of the victims, they find out that a rare and illegal machine gun has caused their bodies to “vaporize.”

The Miami team eventually learns that the deaths occurred during a raid sanctioned by US Customs and operated by a private security firm called Peregrine Security.  The company's CEO Steve Lancaster justifies the use of the weapon for protecting American lives overseas but Horatio is unconvinced and is determined to get the special weapon out of their hands.  Just when Horatio is about to take action, complication ensues as Lancaster gets murdered and the weapon gets stolen.  Now, pressure is on the CSIs as they attempt to find the weapon before it causes any more damage.

Joining the cast of CSI: Miami are Terry Serpico (Steve Lancaster), Erika Alexander (Tanya Thorpe), John Ortiz (Gabriel Soto), and Mark Wystrach (Patrick Austin), who serve as guests on tonight's episode.

"Guerillas in the Mist" is directed by Carey Meyer and written by Barry O'Brien and Brian Davidson.
