The next new episode of CSI: Miami is slated to air on Monday, January 14.  The episode, entitled "Raising Caine," was the last to be completed before the writers' strike began on November, which means that next week's broadcast could serve as the season finale.

According to Spoiler TV, Horatio's (David Caruso) ex and Kyle's (Evan Ellingson) mother, Julia (guest star Elizabeth Berkley, formerly of Saved by the Bell), returns as a billionaire's widow and is determined to get Kyle, who is in jail, back.

CSI Files is reporting that Horatio and Frank (Rex Linn) meet at the scene of a crime, which happens to be the murder of Julia's wealthy husband Bill Winston (guest star Robert Merrill).  Bill was shot in the chest, and his body was discovered by a woman named Pamela Mills (guest star Anne Rose Hopkins), who says that she takes care of everything for the Winstons when they are in Miami.  She also explains that Julia sells high-end real estate, and that day's event was set up to sell an island called Windsail Key to various billionaires from around the world.  She admits to not knowing any of the guests, but says she doesn't think any of them could be responsible.

When Horatio comes face to face with Julia, their meeting is bittersweet.  Things get even more complicated when details of the investigation reveal that Julia may be a suspect.

Other guest stars appearing in this new CSI: Miami episode are Jay R. Ferguson (Sleeper Cell, Surface, Medium) as Larry Hopkins, Josh Kelly (Desire, Moonlight, Ugly Betty) as Paul, Bee-Be Smith (Everybody Hates Chris, Close to Home, Alias) as the court clerk and Jeff DeSerrano (General Hospital, Jericho, Nip/Tuck) as the corrections officer.

"Raising Caine" was written by Sunil Kayar and directed by Gina Lamar.
